September 2026

The West End Jerseys sang, “Oh, what a night, late September back in ’63.” For us, it was early September ’26—and what a night it truly was. The comments and feedback from everyone who joined our Village Hall’s 10th Anniversary Celebration have been fantastic, and we’re delighted that so many of you enjoyed the evening.

On the 5th of September, we marked ten years of our Village Hall—a milestone made possible by the continued support of our community. When we needed help most, you were there, and a decade on the hall is thriving. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, volunteered, attended events, or simply championed the hall over the years.

Reaching ten years also meant completing our second five‑year electrical inspection. We’re pleased to report that the hall passed. As expected in a building of this age, we now need remedial work on our fire alarm and emergency lighting systems. Many components—such as sensors and batteries—have simply reached the end of their lifespan and need replacing. We should complete this work by the time you read this update.

After considerable experience with CPM, the company managing our ANPR car‑parking system, we have decided not to renew our contract when it ends. It has been a steep learning curve, and we feel it is time for a change. We are reviewing alternative providers and will keep you informed once we finalise new arrangements.
