June 2020

With the relaxing of some restrictions last month we have been able to return to gardening work at the hall, with grass cutting and general maintenance being carried out by our group of volunteers, all working within the set government guidelines. The regular monthly gardening Saturday mornings are still off the agenda for the moment but maybe on the cards for July.

As previously mentioned, because the restrictions are gradually easing, we will keep a close eye on these to see when some form of normality can return to our hall. It might be possible for some users that can maintain social distancing to return in July or August, but we will have to wait and see.

If you are a Facebook user check out the short film Scott has made and posted which captures `Platt in Lockdown` It is about 3 minutes long and worth a look.

As many of you know, during these weeks of lockdown Saskia cleans the hall has made good use of the empty building by giving it a full spring clean, including washing down paintwork, tables, chairs, and this last week, repainting the badminton lines.

Some good news for our hall is we have qualified for the Covid-19 government grant for local businesses and organisations and have received a payment of £10.000 which will cover our losses and running costs through this strange and challenging period.
