February 2020

We had a good turnout for our New Year’s Eve event at the hall which was enjoyed by all, although some may have had sore heads when they woke the next morning.

Unfortunately, there has been a very poor response enquiry from local builders with regards to the store extension with only one quote returned from 9 approached. If you know or would recommend a local builder please let us know.

Our next gardening session at the hall is Saturday, February 15th starting at 9.30am, please join us if you can for an hour or two, hopefully, by then spring will be showing itself with the addition of 10kg of daffodil bulbs followed by 250 tulip bulbs that were planted in November along with the many already planted. As always refreshments will be served
If you are a regular hall user you will have noticed moles have taken residence in the grassed areas to the rear causing problems, and although there have been 4 caught, neighbours and friends keep taking up the vacancy left behind. We will persevere.

We will be holding our Platt Memorial Hall AGM towards the end of March lookout for the date in the March VN.
On Friday, May 8th the trustees will be holding a Street Party at the hall to celebrate the 75th anniversary of V.E Day and the end of the 2nd World War. There will be a nominal charge to attend this event which will be supported by both the PPC and the Fundraisers along with the Hall Trustees. This anniversary is being celebrated over the whole W/E with the May Day bank holiday moving from Monday to Friday 8th. Further information will follow.
