December 2019

We are pleased to report there was a good turn out from residents and local groups alike for our Remembrance Sunday Service on the 10th November during which Wreaths were laid by all local groups and societies from within our village, with the added good fortune that the weather was kind to us.

Following our report last month that our planning application had been approved we are pleased to add that we now have building regulation approval for our proposed office and store extension to our hall. We will now look to getting some quotations for this work and also look to see if there is any available match funding to go with what we have already set aside to carry out this work, which hopefully could be next year.

Our Saturday gardening meets will cease over the Christmas and New Year period with the next one scheduled for February 21st 2020 with not much to do over these 2 months we can rely on our paid gardeners to keep an eye on things for us. Do put the dates in the diary and join us if you can for an hour or two, you would be most welcome.

If you have not set yourself up with anything to do on Dec 31st do join us at the Memorial Hall to welcome in the New Year, it’s a bring your own friends, food and drinks occasion details are in a separate ad within this magazine.

Thank you to everyone for the continued support for our village hall which continues to grow year on year, and this means that we are able to maintain current rates and charges for the forthcoming year.

From the Trustees, we wish you a Happy Christmas and New Year.

David Vallance, Chairman of Trustees
