This day time event was well supported with an estimated 120 ploughman\u2019s and cream teas served on old fashioned cake stands and teapots.<span class=\" fusion-imageframe imageframe-dropshadow imageframe-2 hover-type-zoomin\" style=\"-webkit-box-shadow: 3px 3px 7px rgba(0,0,0,0.3);box-shadow: 3px 3px 7px rgba(0,0,0,0.3);margin-left:25px;float:right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/plattmemorialhall.org\/warmemorial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VE-Day_002.jpg\" class=\"fusion-lightbox\" data-rel=\"iLightbox[1803b739b3c9379c94b]\" data-title=\"Platt Memorial Hall VE Day Celebration 2015\" title=\"Platt Memorial Hall VE Day Celebration 2015\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"178\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/plattmemorialhall.org\/warmemorial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VE-Day_002-178x300.jpg\" alt class=\"img-responsive wp-image-2052\" srcset=\"http:\/\/plattmemorialhall.org\/warmemorial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VE-Day_002-1x2.jpg 1w, http:\/\/plattmemorialhall.org\/warmemorial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VE-Day_002-178x300.jpg 178w, http:\/\/plattmemorialhall.org\/warmemorial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VE-Day_002.jpg 537w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 178px) 100vw, 178px\" \/><\/a><\/span>The evening saw a 40\u2019s\/50\u2019s night dance which was well attended with many people entering into the spirit of the day by dressing up in period costume, food was by way of that old British favourite fish and chips.<\/p>\n<p>To accompany the days event the Church flower arrangers had created for display 6 flower arrangements with colours depicting the flags of Great Britain, one also being with poppies draped over the Union Jack, there was also three Tower of London poppies to be admired.<\/p>\n<p>In our small hall (committee room) the Trustee\u2019s had a display commemorating those that had fallen during WW11 and who were connected to our village or named on our Memorial plaque.
