Platt Woods Second World War History Trail

All summer, back by popular demand and with the permission of Platt Parish Council and TMBC, the Platt Woods Local History Trail returns to the community, but this time with a Second World War theme to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the war.

The trail begins in the woods at the top of the steps leading away from the churchyard. It follows the pathways leading towards Windmill Hill, before turning back and finishing near the giant Wellingtonia a short walk from the Platt Common entrance. Like before, we have designed it with children in mind; however, people of all ages are welcome to take part.

Naturally, if you are in the woods, and spot other people, please remember to socially distance from them, and also we would be grateful if you could observe any signage put in place by the Platt Woods Management Committee indicating new areas of planting.

Quiz sheets and the locations of each board are available via the link below, which you can print out. Due to the Covid-19 situation sheets will not currently be available in the entrance to the church. We are grateful to the Platt Fundraisers who have generously funded the trail, and we hope you enjoy exploring our fantastic woods!
